Stand By Your Beds is a joyfully irresistible original musical specially written to raise funds for the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice in Farnham, Surrey. During its premiere one-week run at Princes Hall Aldershot, the show broke the theatre’s box-office records for a January production. Several nights were completely sold out - every single performance received a standing ovation.

Set during the fifties and sixties the show follows the lives and loves of staff at Riverside General Hospital as they face the mounting bureaucracy of the NHS. Stand By Your Beds seamlessly blends many musical styles including heart rending ballads, comic operetta, barbershop, gospel and brand new, toe-tapping, rock’n’roll numbers.

All the cast, musicians and stage crew were volunteers who donated their time and considerable talent to produce a brilliant, energetic and highly enjoyable show. More than £35,000 was raised for the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice and there is more money still coming in. Writer Paul Tickner will also be donating the royalties for future Stand By Your Beds performances to the charity.
